Beverly's Wine Stewards - The Coeur d'Alene Resort

Job Summary
Beverly's Wine Steward is responsible for assisting the Head Wine Sommelier in various tasks related to wine service within the restaurant. This role requires knowledge of wines and their pairings with food, strong customer service skills, and the ability to educate and guide customers in their wine choices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in curating and maintaining an extensive wine list that complements the menu
  • Provide detailed descriptions and recommendations based on customers' tastes and the menu offerings
  • Assist the sommelier with the presentation and pouring of wine at the table
  • Prepare wine service areas, including setting up glassware and ensuring necessary tools are available
  • Help with decanting wines as instructed by the sommelier
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining the wine cellar and storage rooms
  • Help with restocking of wines and ensuring proper rotation of stock
  • Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies or low stock items
  • Interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner
  • Assist with wine service during special events, tastings and wine dinners
  • Ensure wine is delivered to the appropriate table in a timely manner
  • Retrieve wine orders from the cellar or stargate area promptly upon request

Requirements

  • Ability to life and carry up to 50lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and navigate stairs or tight space in wine cellars
  • My possess a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a team-orientated approach
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekend and holidays

  • Full Time Employees are offered these benefits first of the month following 60 days of employment
  • Must maintain a minimum of 30 hours per week or more.
  • Variable hour team members could be eligible 12 months after their date of hire, with supervisor approval, so long as they have averaged 30+ hours per week throughout their first year.

401K Plan:

  • Team members are eligible to participate at the age of 21 or greater and at the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment.
  • 50% match up to a 4% contribution from the team member.

PTO:

  • 6 months gets 7 PTO days - 728 hours (average 28 hours per week)
  • 1 year gets 10 PTO days - 1,456 hours (average 28 hours per week)
  • 2-4 years gets 15 PTO days - 1,456 hours (average 28 hours per week)
  • 5+ years gets 20 PTO days - 1,200 hours (average 23 hours per week)

Holiday Pay:

  • Hourly team members who work on Thanksgiving and Christmas will be paid their wage at time and a half.
